Baracknophobia

This is worth a watch: Baracknophobia on the Daily Show.

P.S. The only thing worse than Sean Hannity is Glenn Beck.

    Hey Adam,

Socialism is defined as State run organizations (where tax revenues supply operating costs) that distribute goods and services. Socialism is also centered out economic planning (i.e. The Federal Reserve System). You see America is already a socialist country, the media has fooled you into thinking it is a new thing in America. Government sponsored health care, corporate bailouts, government ownership of auto companies, central economic planning, and high tax rates is textbook socialism, if not fascism. I respect your right to free speech and to voice your opinion, nor do I think what you are saying is wrong, but I would hope that someone who has a rational mind such as yourself, can see that you are using a heuristic thought process. You have let yourself become divided. Republicans are Democrats and Dems are Reps. There is no difference. Defending Obama is defending more big federal government i.e. socialsim. If you wish to be socialist I suggest France, Sweden, and maybe Canada. America was founded on an idea: Freedom. Freedom to choose, freedom to take care of one’s own self, freedom to protect family and property, freedom to speak and think freely, freedom to one’s own labors, freedom to educate, freedom to love, freedom for all. Freedom IS the answer to the worlds problems. Government run education is a failure, government welfare programs are a failure, government agencies (i.e. SEC, EPA, FCC, etc. etc.) are all failures and they create ZERO wealth for our great nation. I wear my seat belt because it may save my life not because its illegal not to. I don’t do drugs because they have adverse health effects, not because they are illegal. I believe in the free market because I am a philanthropist and I don’t need the government to take my money to give it to others who either choose not to work, or are simply lazy. I understand there are people in our country who need a hand getting on their feet, I don’t need government bureaucrats helping them because I know free people will crouch down and say, “let me help you, friend.” You may think I am crazy and live in utopia, but freedom worked in this country until it started to be slowly stripped away just decades after the US Constitutions ratification. I understand government health care and free housing sounds good, but it IS NOT viable. Someone has to pay for it. Just because someone is wealthy (annual income over 250,000) doesn’t mean they achieve it unethically. Many people who work long hours and risk their entire financial livelihood every day are small business owners. Small business owners are subject to high tax rates and have been for a long time. They also provide jobs and health benefits for those who work. More government (which Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush Sr., Reagan, & a plethora of presidents prior have all done whether D or R) is not the answer. Blame it on regulation, blame it on the free market, blame it on capitalism, blame it on the rich, blame it on bumble bees for all I care, but defending another president who is pushing more and more of the same is a foolish cause. If you blame it on regulation then you have taken away the individuals right to choose right from wrong, rule of law punishes wrong doers. Blame it on the free market and you oversee the fact that the market cannot be free with a central bank and government intervention. Blame it on Capitalism when those who have failed (AIG, Citibank, GM) are being rescued. Blame it on the rich when the wealthy provide for billions in charitable donations, albeit their intentions may not always be so pure. Barack Obama gives one hell of a speech, but so did Hitler… Be a free individual, a person with a gifted mind such as yourself doesn’t need the government to tell him how to act, nor does he need them to take care of him. Besides, what has the government really done for you lately anyway?

    Freedom is the answer.
